Competing in a variety of different race programs over the past few seasons including the IMSA Prototype Challenge, female racer Hanna Zellers is set to join Hixon Motor Sports (HMS) in 2023. Ready to tackle the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires (MX-5 Cup), Zellers is the first signee of the HMS program for 2023 and the first female confirmed for the upcoming season.

It was an intense season-ending race in the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BF Goodrich as valuable championship points were on the line. For Max Opalski, he was looking to finish the season strong and close a rookie campaign that featured both highs and lows. Taking on Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, Opalski ended the year with a ninth-place result.

It was a winning weekend for Copeland Motorsports as they closed the 2022 Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BF Goodrich championship in style with a victory at the hands of Tyler Gonzalez and an additional top-ten result with Max Opalski. Taking on the Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, Gonzalez made a pair of trips to the podium while Opalski showed the experience he gained throughout the season to show pace and race inside the top-ten at the Braselton, Georgia facility. When the final checkered flag flew, Copeland Motorsports earned four race wins, including the season opener and season-ending race.

With seven drivers under the Hixon Motor Sports banner, it was a total of one win, two podium results, and five top-ten finishes over the two-race Idemtisu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires (MX-5 Cup) weekend. Taking place at the ultra-fast VIRginia International Raceway (VIR), it was Connor Zilisch who led the HMS squad with a second-place podium result Saturday before leveling up Sunday to take the win.

Descending on the Virginia International Raceway (VIR) this past weekend, Copeland Motorsports driver Max Opalski was determined and ready. Taking on rounds eleven and twelve of the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich Tires, the rookie driver showed his progression matching his career-best finish on Saturday before fighting in the top-five on Sunday.
