    Rookie Ethan Goulart (No. 29 Saito Motorsports Group) put on a rain racing master class at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for Round Eight of the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin on Sunday. A three-wide pass on the final lap gave the 16-year-old his first race win in the series. The second-generation racer was joined on the podium by runner-up Nathan Nicholson (No. 56 Advanced Autosports) and Jeremy Fletcher (No. 22 McCumbee McAleer Racing) in third.

  • Fletcher Charges to Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup Win at Mid-Ohio

    The halfway point of the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin season produced a championship points shakeup. Jeremy Fletcher (No. 22 McCumbee McAleer Racing) fought his way through the top five to take his first win of the season. Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course wasn’t as kind to the points leader entering the weekend; Jared Thomas (No. 96 JTR Motorsports Engineering) made a mistake on the final lap that dropped him from a possible podium to 24th at the checkered flag.

    Sunny skies greeted the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin field as they arrived at Barber Motorsports Park Sunday morning. It may have been a stark change in the weather from Saturday, but the podium looked rather familiar. Tyler Gonzalez (No. 57 BSI Racing) took the top step once again, followed by teammate Westin Workman (No. 13 BSI Racing).
