PT Autosport and Wheels America Racing’s Max Stallone powered through a second character-building event in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by Michelin this weekend, earning solid finishes in the highly competitive 40-car field.

Bobby Gossett delivered a defining weekend for BSI Racing at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, capturing his first career victory and adding a second podium finish in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin. With the performance, Gossett now leads the Drivers’ Championship standings.

March 3, 2026 – JTR Motorsports kicked off its second event weekend in style on the Streets of St. Petersburg, competing in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup series alongside the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. Taking on the barrier-lined street course, JTR drivers delivered a pair of podium results, and now shift their focus to the next one.

Justin Adakonis (No.23 McCumbee McAleer Racing) earned his first-ever Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin win on the streets of St. Petersburg and held off two-time series champion Jared Thomas (No. 96 JTR Motorsports Engineering) to do so.

On a wet but drying Grand Prix of St. Petersburg street course, Bobby Gossett (No. 44 BSI Racing) displayed a patience beyond his years all the way to the checkered flag on Saturday. Gossett took his first-ever Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin race win ahead of two-time series champion Jared Thomas (No. 96 JTR Motorsports Engineering).
