Mazda MX-5 Cup cars do not merely evolve; they are forged.

Each begins as a Mazda MX-5 production car, meticulously assembled at Mazda’s Hiroshima, Japan Factory—the very same facility that has produced every MX-5 Miata since 1989. Once manufactured, they are shipped and destined for Daytona Beach, Florida: The World Center of Racing.

There, within the Flis Performance Factory—Mazda Motorsports’ sole appointed builder and guardian of the Mazda MX-5 Cup Car specification—the metamorphosis begins in earnest. The car is disassembled and stripped of seam sealer and sound deadening material to create a clean foundation.

Then comes the roll cage: FIA-homologated, TIG-welded, and featuring NASCAR style door bars. When the final bead is laid and the chassis emerges from its protective coat of paint, reassembly begins—an orchestration of over 250 components, each proven across thousands of unforgiving race laps, and validated by the fastest hands in spec racing.

Suspension forged for precision. Brakes that deliver exceptional stopping power. Engine calibration sealed and series-limited at 7,500 rpm. Every component is individually assigned to each chassis.

It stands as the most successful, revered, and featured spec race car.
