Over $500,000 in support up for grabs as series prepares for Daytona debut in January

Savanna Little, Mazda’s first female MX-5 Cup Shootout Scholarship winner, has signed with Hixon Motor Sports for the 2021 MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich® Tires. Little earned herself a $75,000 scholarship during the 2020 Mazda MX-5 Cup Shootout at Road Atlanta which took place November 15-16th. Joining Hixon Motor Sports in the MX-5 Cup and IMSA paddock marks her first professional season.

Michael Carter will be returning to the Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires in 2021 to defend his Championship Title. He will be utilizing the $200,000 scholarship to return to the series with family owned team, Carter Racing Enterprises, driving the familiar No. 08 car. The Carters are looking to carry their momentum into the 2021 season opener in Daytona.

As the 2021 MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich season approaches, San Diego, California native, Chris Nunes aka California Kid, joins the MX-5 Cup circuit after signing with JTR Motorsports Engineering for the upcoming season. This will be Nunes’ first year competing in professional sports car racing.
