And to cap off the day, the paddock population packed up, made a quick change of clothes, and headed to the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg to celebrate the season and honor the champions.

Gresham Wagner earned one Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires point with his record-setting run to pole onboard the No. 5 Spark Performance entry on Friday. Wagner’s fast lap time of 01:24.6104-seconds set a new track record in the series’ first ever visit to the temporary street circuit.

The 2020 Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires season is poised to close in dramatic fashion with a championship-deciding doubleheader this weekend.
