(Oct. 14, 2017) – Already having collected a $200,000 scholarship from Mazda for his 2017 Battery Tender Mazda Global MX-5 Cup Championship, Patrick Gallagher (No. 29 McCumbee McAleer Racing) added a cool $75,000 bonus to his year by winning the Mazda Global MX-5 Cup Challenge at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on Saturday.

After just one day of official running, Nikko Reger’s (No. 01 Copeland Motorsports) wallet is now $5,000 heavier. ​ Reger scored the Pagid Super Pole Award on Friday after setting the fastest qualifying lap for the Global Mazda MX-5 Cup Challenge at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Robby Foley (No. 63 Hooverspeed) will start from outside the front row for the first of Saturday’s two races.

(9 October 2017) – For one fortunate racer, it will take just 90 minutes to earn $75,000, or more, this Saturday at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca as Mazda stages the Global Mazda MX-5 Cup Challenge. Both 45-minute races will be live streamed on Saturday, October 14. Race one will be at 12:40 pm, while the second race will start at 5:00 pm. Both are Pacific time zone. The races can be viewed at

In 12 races, there were over 2,000 passes for position. It also featured awards. Big awards. $200,000 for the champion and $50,000 for the rookie-of-the-year being the most lucrative.
