After just one day of official running, Nikko Reger’s (No. 01 Copeland Motorsports) wallet is now $5,000 heavier. ​ Reger scored the Pagid Super Pole Award on Friday after setting the fastest qualifying lap for the Global Mazda MX-5 Cup Challenge at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Robby Foley (No. 63 Hooverspeed) will start from outside the front row for the first of Saturday’s two races.

(9 October 2017) – For one fortunate racer, it will take just 90 minutes to earn $75,000, or more, this Saturday at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca as Mazda stages the Global Mazda MX-5 Cup Challenge. Both 45-minute races will be live streamed on Saturday, October 14. Race one will be at 12:40 pm, while the second race will start at 5:00 pm. Both are Pacific time zone. The races can be viewed at

    IRVINE, Calif. (28 September 2017) – The 2017 Battery Tender Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires featured passing. Lots of passing. In 12 races, there were over 2,000 passes for position. It also featured awards. Big awards. $200,000 for the champion and $50,000 for the rookie-of-the-year being the most lucrative.

(22 September 2017) – After falling back in the pack at the start of the race, 2017 Battery Tender Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires champion Patrick Gallagher (No. 29 McCumbee McAleer Racing) edged his friend and former roommate Robby Foley (No. 54 Hooverspeed) for the victory by all of .510-seconds on Friday at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

  • Mazda MX-5 Cup Returns to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca

    Monterey, Calif. (18 September 2017) - By any measure, the 2017 Global Mazda MX-5 Cup season has been a remarkable one. In nine of the ten races run thus far, the margin of victory was less than half a second. Seven of the ten races have had either zero or just one caution period, making for a lot of green flag racing for the full fields of Mazda drivers. With hundreds of passes for position each race, the first professional race series on the Mazda Road to 24 ladder has featured tight racing all the way through the field.
