    LEXINGTON, Ohio (July 28, 2018) – It was a record-setting day at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Saturday as fans on site and on line were treated to yet another dynamic round of Battery Tender Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich competition. The parity of the Global Mazda MX-5 Cup race car was demonstrated by close battles throughout the field in which several drivers made significant forward progress through 45 minutes of racing.

Born of Mazda’s passion for driving, the Global MX-5 Cup cars that leave Long Road Racing in Statesville, North Carolina as racecars, arrived there as sports cars.  And this weekend, the Battery Tender Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires heads to the only track on the schedule with “Sports Car” in its name. The 2.4-mile long natural terrain road course is easily one of the premiere racing tracks in these 50 United States.

    Mansfield, Ohio (25 July 2018) - This weekend will see the Battery Tender Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich take to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course as part of the Verizon IndyCar Series event weekend. Mid-Ohio’s 2.258-miles of winding and undulating natural terrain circuit will play host for two 45-minute Mazda MX-5 Cup races as the series enters the second half of the 2018 season.

  • Championship Battle Rages as Battery Tender Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Heads to Mid-Ohio

    Irvine, Calif. (19 July 2018) – With three race weekends down and three to go, it’s getting down to the wire as the Battery Tender Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires championship battles heat up all across the field.   With three different titles on the line and a grand total of $290,000 in support up for grabs, the Global Mazda MX-5 Cup has plenty of racing left before the champions emerge at the end of the season. The overall champion will receive a hefty $200,000 prize from Mazda to put towards the next level of their Mazda Road to 24 career, while the top placing Rookie will earn themselves a $75,000 check, up from last year’s $50,000 earning. Finally, the new-to-2018 Challenger Class will also award the winner with a Mazda Experience worth $15,000.
