Woody Heimann Makes his Pro Debut with JTR at Mid-Ohio

NORTH VERNON, IND. (May 11, 2021) - Findlay, Ohio native, Woody Heimann, will make his pro series debut this weekend in the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Heimann will pilot the #82 WoodCo Distributing Mazda MX-5 Cup car with JTR Motorsports Engineering.

Heimann makes his debut at his home track where he has a wealth of experience racing everything from motorcycles to cars.  “I am extremely excited to be joining MX-5 Cup and be a part of some of the best racing out there,” he said.  Heimann plans to run the remainder of the 2021 MX-5 Cup season.

JTR Motorsports Engineering welcomes the Ohio native as he brings great experience and energy to the team.  Heimann will turn the JTR duo into a trio as he joins current rookie of the year point leader, Chris Nunes, and 2020 rookie of the year Jared Thomas.

JTR plans to make a strong showing at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course as Nunes continues his hot streak and Thomas ends his streak of bad luck.  Tune into IMSA.TV catch the races live this weekend on Saturday and Sunday.
