July 27, 2020 - Already scoring wins in TC America in both the TCR and TCA classes, Copeland Motorsports continued their winning ways this past weekend at Road America. Taking on the Battery Tender Global MX-5 Cup Challenge Presented by BF Goodrich, Robert Noaker scored the pole position during the one and only qualifying session and went on to score both the race one and race two victory to kick off 2020.

"It has a been a tremendous restart to the season," explained Dean Copeland. "We started our winning ways back in March and continued that after the unfortunate three-month COVID-19 break. We have no thoughts of slowing down and will look to carry the momentum into August and onwards in 2020."

Scoring the pole position, Noaker went on to take the first checkered flag of the season at the famed 4.014-mile Road America with a turn five pass on the last lap.

"That was a fun race to be in. I think I only took a normal line through a turn maybe two times. You're fighting for clean air the whole time," explained Noaker. "I know my car and it seems like it's better through the infield section. I was trying to take advantage there and build a gap big enough to hold down the back straight. It helped that they were fighting for second behind me, and I was able to check out."

The #13 Copeland Motorsports machine had no trouble taking the checkered flag, a solid 1.3435 seconds ahead of the competition.

Looking to repeat his performance in round two, Friday's race win completed a perfect season opener for Noaker, who topped practice times, earned pole for both races and won both races.

"We came into the weekend thinking we just wanted to finish the race, because Road America is so draft dependent; you could be first or you could be tenth, the lead pack is just that big," Noaker added. "Here we are now, able to sweep the whole weekend! I just have to thank my partners Britney's Hope, CPT Technologies, Mazda and Copeland Motorsports."

Joining Noaker on the grid was Paul Stanton who added 21st and 22nd place results over the double event weekend.
