July 26, 2023 – Fresh off a race weekend that featured a race win for Selin Rollan and double podium results for Thomas Annunziata, Hixon Motor Sports (HMS) is primed and ready for a trip to Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Ready to battle the 4.048-mile, 14-turn natural terrain road course, the multi-time race-winning program will enter seven drivers in rounds nine and ten of the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich Tires.

“Road America is one of the nicest facilities that we race at and always provides for some close racing and nail-biting finishes,” explained Team Owner Bryan Hixon. “It is a high-speed game of chess, and as a team we need to be smart and confident in our decisions both on and off the track.”

Leading the seven-driver program into Wisconsin will be Rollan, who currently sits second in the championship point standings, two positions ahead of Thomas Annunziata who is fourth but atop the Rookie of the Year points battle. With three drivers in the top-six in the points, Connor Zilisch is sixth but will be absent from the event and opening the door for others to fight for victory.

Behind Rollan and Annunziata, Jonathan Neudorf, Hanna Zellers, Ethan Tyler, Bailey Cruse, and Farhan Siddiqi will fly the HMS colors as they aim to garner not only points for their personal position in the championship standings but also to maintain the lead in the Team Championship whereas Hixon Motor Sports is the reigning 2022 champion.

Team Manager, Shea Holbrook, continued, “We have a strong driver lineup again for Road America. Seven drivers, seven cars, and seven chances at a win and podiums. As we always do, we will share knowledge as the weekend goes on to better all our drivers and give them the best chance possible.”

HMS is set to hit the track Thursday, August 3rd for the first official practice session of the weekend. Practice two and qualifying will take place on Friday ahead of the two wheel-to-wheel sprint races on Saturday.

As the Series is offering four additional hours of track time on Thursday before practice one, HMS Coach, Andrew Carbonell, mentioned, “We must encourage our drivers to give their best performance while also being conservative enough on the race cars and themselves to complete a very long event.”
