July 8, 2026 – JTR Motorsports Engineering is set to return to Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup competition this weekend as the series heads north of the border to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) for the fifth event weekend of the 2026 season. The team will field a five-car lineup for the only Canadian race weekend on this year's schedule, continuing one of the largest and most competitive programs in the paddock.

Representing JTR Motorsports Engineering this weekend will be:
Jared Thomas - #96
Gresham Wagner - #5
Glenn McGee - #69
John Salerno - #34
Justin Gravett - #8

Canadian Tire Motorsport Park has long been regarded as one of North America's premier road racing facilities. The fast and flowing 2.459-mile, ten-turn circuit is one of the quickest circuits on the calendar and will provide the opportunity for mega draft, similar to that of the first event of the season at the Daytona International Speedway. With sweeping turns such as Moss Corner and the iconic Turn 2, the track has challenged some of the world's greatest racers for decades and remains a favorite among competitors.

Entering the weekend, Jared Thomas sits second in the championship standings with Gresham Wagner inside the top-ten. Salerno and Gravett sit third and sixth in the chase for the Rookie of the Year honors, as the five-driver lineup looks for success this weekend in Canada.

Coming off another productive stretch of racing, JTR Motorsports Engineering enters the weekend looking to continue building momentum with its deep driver lineup. Driver and team owner Jared Thomas, who currently sits second in the standings, is eager to take on one of the most demanding circuits on the Mazda MX-5 Cup calendar.

"Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is one of those tracks that every driver looks forward to each season,” explained Dave Thomas. “It's fast, technical, and really rewards confidence behind the wheel. We've got a great group of drivers this weekend, and the entire team has been working hard to prepare for this event. It's always exciting to race in Canada, and we're looking forward to putting together a strong weekend and continuing to build momentum as the season moves into the second half."

With a talented mix of experienced veterans and rising talent, JTR Motorsports heads to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park aiming for another strong showing in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup championship. The race weekend begins Friday with two practice sessions, with qualifying and race one taking place on Saturday. Race two will conclude the weekend on Sunday.
