The initial appearance of the Hole In The Wall Camps Mazda MX-5
Cup car will be at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut on
Memorial Day Weekend, May 26 - May 29. Hole In The Wall campers,
their families and camp staff will be invited to join the race
team during the weekend for a behind the scene look at and a
taste of what goes on during a race weekend.
In addition, on race day, children of race fans will be invited
to get a close-up look at the Hale Motorsports Hole In The Wall
Camp Mazda MX-5 and show their support of the Hole In The Wall
Camp.
“Our goal is to raise awareness of and funds for the camp,” said
Randy Hale of Hale Motorsports. “We want all the kids to have a
chance to feel like they are a part of the race team.”
“The Hole In The Wall Camps are honored to be participating with
Hale Motorsports in this event at Lime Rock Park,” said Hole In
the Wall Executive Director James Canton. “Our founder, Paul
Newman, has had a long association with motorsports as both a
team owner and competitor. Motorsports fans are noted for their
enthusiasm and generosity, and we hope that the campers and
their families will benefit directly from that support.”
The Hole In The Wall Camps serve children dealing with chronic
and life-threatening illnesses by creating memorable,
old-fashioned camping experiences. With state-of-the-art medical
services available, children are empowered, in the words of Paul
Newman, “to kick back, relax and raise a little hell.” There are
currently four camps in the United States and two overseas. No
child or family pays to attend a Hole In The Wall Camp.
