Round Two of SCCA Pro Racing Playboy MX-5 Cup Set To Air Saturday
Apr. 19, 2012 - TOPEKA, Kan. - Round Two of the 2012 SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup will air on Velocity Network Saturday, April 28th during the second episode of the Mazda Motorsports Hour.
The season-opening weekend featured a doubleheader of races from Sebring International Raceway.
Last Saturday on Velocity, fans saw Steven McAleer go flag-to-flag for the win in his first Playboy MX-5 Cup start. This week’s episode, on at Noon (EDT), features another thrilling battle for the win at the front of the field.
Veteran motorsports broadcaster Rick Benjamin and longtime SCCA champion racer Randy Pobst are in the booth for the broadcast, with Todd Lewis reporting from pit lane.
The Mazda Motorsports Hour focuses on the stars of tomorrow, young up-and-coming racers looking to move up the Mazda Road to Indy and the MAZDASPEED Motorsports Ladder. The hour-long broadcasts focus on the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear and the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda in addition to the Playboy MX-5 Cup. IZOD IndyCar Series star James Hinchcliffe will join Benjamin in the booth for the MAZDA Road to Indy open-wheel broadcasts.
All 11 of the 2012 Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup races will be broadcast as part of the Mazda Motorsports Hour on Velocity.
