Foss Wins First MX-5 Cup Race of 2008 at Road Atlanta
Polesitter Eric Foss, of Fort Worth, Texas, won the first SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup race of 2008, part of the Classic Motorsports Mitty at Road Atlanta. Hooverspeed teammates Todd Buras, of Melbourne, Fla., and Brad Rampelberg, of San Jose, Calif., completed the podium. ...Continued

Five Women to Race in 2008 MX-5 Cup Season Opener
Is 2008 the year of women in racing? The season has started out strong for racers Danica Patrick (Indycar Series), Ashley Force (NHRA Powerade Funny Cars), and Simona De Silvestro (Cooper Tires Atlantic Championship Powered by Mazda), who added their names to a growing list of women who have won professional car races in the U.S. in the last three decades and beyond. Now this weekend, Round One of the SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup will see no fewer than five women take the green flag in its record 31-car field. ...Continued

MER Teammates Tie for Qualifying Record at Road Atlanta; Foss Awarded Pole
MER teammates Eric Foss, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Ryan Schimsk, of Austin, Texas, proved just how close the competition is in SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup when they entered identical fast laps in qualifying for Saturday's Round One race, part of the Classic Motorsports Magazine Mitty Challenge.
